Instagram Pinterest TikTok Letterboxd Amazon Storefront Happy Sunday, everyone! How is 2023 treating us all so far? Have we set up our mood boards? Decided our goals for the year? Are we pretending to do dry January? I can say the first week of January has been pretty unproductive for me from a work perspective. However, from a personal one, it’s been great because I’ve given myself the headspace to figure out the things that are important to me and what I need to prioritise. I don’t know about anyone else, but the New Year mentality often makes me want to try new things as if the first week of January is the only time I’m allowed to do so until I settle into habits and routines. I’m hoping that Rhubarb’s guide to London can encourage some of you to try new places (with or without a dog!). However, I appreciate not all of you are from London, so I’m going to start with a segment of ‘new’ things I’ve tried so far this year that are hopefully more accessible to all of you! Let’s begin…
When it was first released, i used to play the 'Move Along' album loudly in the clothing store I worked in whenever the manager was out, scaring away many customers...
Yesterday I realized it’s been over 4 years since I last went to London, and you’re not helping with today’s issue!! I guess I’ll have to pay the old city a visit in 2023, as well as Paris.
I caved in and ordered the Perricone neck cream. There are some marks there bothering me and I don’t really know anyone else that used neck creams, so I rather paid 130€ for something that’s working for someone instead of 40 for something I don’t know about. Since I’m in need of some new foundation, I might give the Dior one a try too! I’ve used MAC’s Studio Fix for a while, but it’s too much coverage and I end up either mixing it with my moisturizer or not using it at all.
As for Animal Crossing, I had the most fun working on my flowers. Make sure to find a flower guide to make sure you get all the hybrids!
Oh my god I sort of stopped in my tracks a bit seeing that I’d won, thank you so much, how exciting! 🥰
You’re definitely right about a Taurus creating animal crossing too, I was the same with my flowerbeds and aquarium and fossils! I seem to get into a spiral around Christmas of replaying the sims, and obviously I spend 99% of the time creating the perfect house and 1% playing!
This issue couldn’t have come at a better time, my parents are going to London for a long weekend in late January for my mums birthday, and me and my brother will be meeting them for the day with our mini sausage Nellie, and we were discussing two days ago where we can go for a meal that allows dogs, and then I saw your IG stories about this issue! We’re thinking Maison Francois initially based off your tiktok but I’ll show her the list today!
Have a fabulous week and thank you so much once again! Ps I’m about to wash my hair with the Christophe bits I got for Christmas and I’m in love 🥰
Watched The Traitors on your recommendation and I can’t stop thinking about it! Particularly I think it would be great to see how the show would work in other cultures? I hope they make a second season with a new twist to it.
Has anyone tried the board game Avalon? It’s like next-level Mafia and I have never felt more betrayed while having fun (can be complex with the special player cards though, so would watch a youtube playthrough!)
My own contribution to this newsletter is something I would never share with the wider internet in case it went viral but: Selfridges’ food-hall bakery in the evening is 50% off so if you’re going to a dinner party it’s a great pit-stop to get a treat for the table. Don’t let tiktok find out 😅
I need avalon ASAP I love any game that exposes all my friends as either excellent or terrible liars haha - also good idea with the google maps list, I'll get Henry on it seeing as he loves using it so much!
Also @tamsin, hello and thank you for the time and effort into your content! Would you consider making a google maps list of your London recs for subscribers?
Wonderful, as always. I’m currently living in Scotland (for work) but absolutely adore London, and I’m usually down there a few times a year, both for work and socially, so it’s great now to have ideas of restaurants and places to visit (makes me know like I know my stuff 😂)
Also, massively loved the traitors. No-one I know watched it, and going into work the day after a new episode was horrible with no-one to discuss it with! That last episode as well?!
Also, congrats to Charleigh on winning the giveaway 💖
More than welcome! Enjoy the goodies! Yes, HIGHLY recommend it! I’m very jealous you get to just straight binge it rather than wait for the episodes daily haha!x
I never leave work on time; but the night of the finale I was out the door like a whippet. I was fuming when there was a spoiler online on Twitter before I had a chance to watch the last episode (I was still late home, just not as late as usual) 😂 but even then, I was absolutely shocked by everything!

What’re the best fitness classes in London?
saving this for my next trip to london! xx
