it’s hard to untangle self worth, societal status and parental whispering - as a korean american i fought to keep my degree to theatre & performance studies and english lit at stanford.

as soon as i graduated i caved and went into consulting and although the salary does remove any anxiety around financial stability and i enjoy the intellectual challenge, i can’t remember the last time i felt my soul be fulfilled & happy.

i only daydream about making the jump - every time i go see a great play (i recommend Best of Enemies on the west end). but i congratulate you on going for it. and every day fighting to keep going against self doubt and pressure.

the path you are going on is not only valid but inspiring. you bring joy not only to yourself, but hundreds & thousands of others and that’s reason enough to keep going. if every in doubt, i recommend a poem called Desiderata by Max Erhmann. his words have kept me going through the darkest days.

i’ll keep you in my thoughts during the festive period.

I love that your critique of influencers and PR events still manages to sound diplomatic and eloquently analysed even though we can all probably guess what they can be like. As someone’s that’s been on both sides of them, I still think they’re abject hell.

These newsletters are truly such a joy to read and it’s so much fun seeing you expand your creative realm.
